I started teaching part-time at College of Marin in 1989. In 1996, I became a full-time instructor in the Kinesiology and Health Department. I have taught almost every class in the Kinesiology department including two years as the Women’s Basketball coach.
I began teaching online about 10 years ago. I love teaching online for the flexibility it gives me and my students but mostly I enjoy it because it is a student-centered model that allows for independent work while being part of a community of learners. In other words, the responsibility of learning is on the student.

Tips for Success in my Online Courses
Students enrolled in my courses should expect to spend about 6-9 hours a week on the course. Activities include reading, research, quizzes, projects, participation in online discussions and critical thinking essays. The courses I teach are not self-paced, so plan on logging into the class 2-3 times each week to participate and complete coursework.
