Stormy Miller Sabia

Dr. Stormy Miller Sabia (she/her) serves as Associate Vice President of Counseling and Student Services at the College of Marin (COM). A dedicated educational leader with more than a decade of experience in post-secondary education—and a long-standing advocate for access, justice, and care across higher education spaces—she is deeply committed to co-designing and implementing innovative instructional and student support programs across the California community college system. Her work is grounded in cultivating meaningful partnerships with local communities to advance equity and student success.

In 2024, Dr. Sabia played a key leadership role in implementing the Marin County Racial Equity Action Plan and expanding student and community mental health supports. She previously served as Chair of the Marin County Behavioral Health Board (2022–2024), where she helped strengthen cross-sector collaboration to improve behavioral health services countywide.

Dr. Sabia currently serves on the Social Justice and Equity Committee of the Association for California Community College Administrators (ACCCA) and on the San Rafael Public Education Board, HeadsUp. She is the recipient of the CAPED Darrell Steinberg Award, recognizing her longstanding legislative advocacy on behalf of students with disabilities in postsecondary education.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Sabia served as Dean of Counseling and Student Success at West Valley College and as Director of Student Accessibility and Psychological Services at the COM. Before entering educational leadership, she spent a decade as a social worker and counselor in nonprofit settings.

Dr. Sabia resides in Marin County with her family and is the proud parent of a transitional kindergartner in San Rafael City Schools.
