Kristi Kuhn

Kristi Kuhn, Co-Chair of Performing Arts and Co-Coordinator of the Dance Department at College of Marin, earned her MFA in dance from UC Irvine and her BFA in Dance Performance/Choreography from Towson State University. While in college, Kristi choreographed and taught in several Baltimore schools. Kristi’s early training was at the Frederick School of Classical Ballet in Maryland. During these years of training and at age 16, she began teaching and choreographing. Kristi has been on the faculty at College of Marin since 1986, and has been coordinating the dance program since 2002. During her time at the college, Kristi has choreographed at least 40 dance works, has taught ballet, modern, improvisation, conditioning for the dancer, and choreography. Recently in her career Kristi studied Hawkins technique with company director Katherine Duke and other Hawkins dancers most notably Douglas Andresen. During these years, she was able to bring these teachers and several Hawkins dancers to the college for well attended modern dance intensives. She looks forward with excitement to many more successful years at the college.
